Privacy Policy

Dibs ("we," "us") connects people who need small jobs done with people nearby willing to do them, in Provo and Orem, Utah. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using Dibs, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

When you create an account and use Dibs, we collect:

• Account details: your name, email address, mobile phone number, city, ZIP code, and date of birth (used to confirm you are 18 or older).
• Content you create: jobs you post (description, location/area, price, equipment, payment preference), jobs you accept, messages you send, and ratings you give or receive.
• Basic usage information: standard technical data your device sends when using the app (such as general app activity), used to keep the service running.

We do not collect or store payment card information. Payments are arranged and made directly between users (for example, cash or Venmo).

How we use your information

• To operate the marketplace — show jobs, match posters with workers, and sort jobs by distance.
• To let users coordinate a job — for example, showing a worker's name and a job's area, and enabling in-app messaging or a call/text once someone has accepted a job.
• To maintain trust and safety through ratings and to confirm users are 18 or older.
• To respond to support requests and improve the service.

How information is shared

• With other users: to make the marketplace work, certain details are visible to others — for example, your name and a job's general area are shown on the job, and your phone number can be shared with the other party once a job is accepted so you can coordinate.
• With service providers: we use Supabase to host our database, accounts, and messaging. Your data is processed by them solely to provide the service.
• For legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the public.

We do not sell your personal information.

Age requirement

Dibs is only for people 18 and older. We ask for your date of birth at sign-up to confirm this. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we will remove it.

Your choices & deleting your account

You can review and update your profile information at any time in the app under Profile. You can permanently delete your account and associated personal data from within the app at Profile → Delete my account. Deleting your account removes your profile, your posted jobs, your messages, and your ratings.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data, except where we must retain limited information to comply with legal obligations.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including secure authentication and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Dibs grows. We'll post the updated policy here with a new effective date.
